Oh! It's a Lovely War - Volume 2

Volume Two is a double CD containing 50 tracks and no less than two and a half hours of material! Disc one concentrates on songs popular with the troops, including Boys of the Old Brigade, Are We Downhearted?, Take Me Back to Dear Old Blighty, Mademoiselle From Armentieres, Soldiers of the King, Abide With Me, Hold Your Hand Out Naughty Boy, There's a Long, Long Trail, Little Grey Home in the West, Just Before the Battle Mother and Tanks That Broke the Ranks. Disc two is more concerned with the Home Front, and includes tracks such as Goodbye Dolly Gray, Belgium Put the Khibosh On the Kaiser, Till the Boys Come Home, Special Constable Smith and Since Father Joined the Territorials, as well as many descriptive sketch records and comic songs. No tracks are repeated from Vol One, and the CD booklet contains detailed historical notes and recording information.

This CD is eminently suitable for educational, library or museum use, and, an absolute must for anyone with an interest Great War poets and the First World War generally. The CD booklet contains detailed biographical and recording notes, which further enhance this offering.
