Biography of Robert Nichols (1893-1944)
Robert Nichols‚Äö?Ñ?¥ short experience of life on the Western Front did nothing to dampen his enthusiasm, either for life or his subject matter. Despite suffering from shell-shock, Nichols went on to write some very effective and evocative poetry.

‚Äö?ѬÆFriendships with Siegfried Sassoon and Robert Graves, which lasted beyond the war, as well as associations with other prominent literary figures, helped to bring his poetry readily to the public eye and make it popular during the war. Our biography gives a detailed look at his life before, during and after the First World War.
