Biography of Charles Hamilton Sorley (1895-1915)

Biography of Charles Hamilton Sorley (1895-1915)
In his tragically short life, Charles Hamilton Sorley demonstrated a wealth of poetic ability which, had he lived, could well have found him at the top of the list of most famous or best loved war poets. He died, at the tender age of twenty, and all that promise died with him. What remains, however, are a few pieces of work, whose honesty and clarity have rarely been surpassed. Our biography gives details of his life before the outbreak of war, his wartime experiences and his death in action.
